DELVIN “DEL” LANDIS, Elkhart High School, 1951

* Earned 10 varsity letters in 4 sports – baseball, basketball, football

* Baseball – 4 varsity letters. Team’s leading hitting in 1949; was Northern Indiana Conference batting champion and Most Valuable Player in 1951; finished with school record for highest career batting average

* Basketball – 3 varsity letters. Helped lead Blue Blazers to NIC, Sectional and Regional championships in 1951

* Football – 3 varsity letters. Returned opening kickoff 98 yards to help beat Bloomington (Ill.) Normal High School 38-0 in 1950
