ROSS KRIDER, Middlebury High School, 1958

Ross is the all-time Middlebury High School basketball scoring leader, reaching the elite 1,000 point Club, with 1,038. His sophomore through senior years saw the Middies compile a 58-12 record, including two Elkhart County tourney titles (’56 and `58). He was named to the all-sectional basketball team three straight seasons, losing three close decisions by a total of 12 points, 37-35, to Elkhart in 1956; 61-60 to Millersburg, 1957; and to big school Mishawaka, 58-49, in 1958. Batting an amazing .400 in his four-year baseball career, he led Middlebury HS to a 32-0 record the last three years, including three county championships.
